LOST+FOUND FRIDAY: AN EVENING OF POETRY AND PRAYER

Our second Lost & Found Fridays — held on 03 July — was a special Ignatian episode in celebration of the Ateneo 2020 IGNATIAN FESTIVAL: Like the first one, this one was also virtual, and it was also designed to gather our community on our brand new AteneoBlueCloud campus–not for us to talk shop or to discuss business matters, but “to take a deep breath, to take a step back, and to take in the wider view.”

The performers, poets, and organizers gathered for a quick group photo before the audience was let in.

LEARNING BY REFRACTION GOES TO AUSTRALIA

This article is authored by Ms. Jennie Hickey, the Executive Officer of Jesuit Education Australia. The Key Leaders of Learning and the Ignatian Coordinators from Jesuit and Companion Schools Australia were engaged in a four-day workshop entitled “Learning by Refraction: A Practitioner’s Guide to 21st Century Ignatian Pedagogy.” The workshop was held at St. Peter Canisius House, Pymble, Australia from the 23rd to the 27th of February 2020.
A total of 32 participants attended the workshop, representing Australia’s ten Jesuit and Companion Schools.

INTRODUCING JESUIT EDUCATION AND IGNATIAN PEDAGOGY TO XAVIER LEARNING COMMUNITY

Six years ago, when Ateneo SALT Institute Director, Fr. Johnny Go SJ, was at the Catholic Educational Council of Thailand Conference to give a talk, Fr. Agustinus Pitoyo SJ, the Jesuit Regional Superior of Thailand, spoke of a dream to build a Jesuit school for the people of  the hill tribes in the Golden Triangle of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar.

REBOOTING A 20-YEAR OLD DREAM

Last October 29 to 30, 2019, a multidisciplinary group of educators from the Loyola Schools stole away from the Ateneo de Manila campus to gather at the Eugenio Lopez Center in Antipolo. Their task? To talk about a twenty-year old Ateneo dream: a possible Ateneo de Manila Institute or School of Education.

The participants find time to pose for the obligatory group photo between conversations.

WORLD TEACHERS’ DAY 2019 WITH SOME LEGENDARY ATENEO DE MANILA EDUCATORS

In celebration of  World Teachers’ Day, the Ateneo SALT Institute, in cooperation with the Teachers’ Formation Institute (TFI), TALAB, and the Ateneo CELADON, held TEACHING NEW: INNOVATION ROOTED IN TRADITION on October 4 at the  Loft of the George SK Ty Learning Innovation Wing at the Arete.
