WHAT HAS WORKED: AUSTRALIAN AND NORTH AMERICAN EXPERIENCES OF ONLINE CLASSES (ADL Monday Meet-up 2)

What Has Worked:
Australian and North American Experiences of Online Classes

Monday Meet-up for Basic Educators
with Ms. Kate Quinane (St. Aloysius, Sydney)
and Mr. Brian Marana (Loyola Blakefield, Maryland)
(June 14, 2020)

Two of our Ignatian colleagues from Jesuit schools overseas shared their schools’ experiences going online. In this webinar KATE QUINANE (St, Aloysius, Sydney) and BRIAN MARANA (Loyola Blakefield, Maryland) offered their insights about the structures, policies, strategies and practices that have worked for them in their contexts. As mentioned last week, no matter how excellent the online academic and formation programs we design, if we fail to clarify our school’s structures, policies, strategies, and practices, the programs will fall short of being effective.

The first part of the webinar featured Ms. Kate Quinane, who is the Director of Teaching and Learning at St. Aloysius’ College, Sydney, Australia.

Here are the slides prepared by Kate for you to download.

For the second part of our webinar, we listened to Mr. Brian Marana, who is the Assistant Principal for Academics at Loyola Blakefield, Maryland, U.S.A.

Here are the slides and other materials from Brian in case you want to download and refer to them.

The remaining part of the Monday Meet-up is, as usual, allotted to a discussion based on the questions raised by the participants.

Many thanks to Kate and Brian for their generous service of sharing their experiences and insights with our network here in the country.
