12 Years of Online Retreat

Friday Forum on Faith and Values Formation (Part 1)
with Fr. Francis Alvarez SJ & Fr. Johnny Go, SJ
(June 5, 2020)

Back in 2008, Fr. Francis–at the time still a scholastic–was in search of content for the Philippine Province Jesuit website, of which he was the administrator. He broached the idea of an online Lenten retreat to Fr. Johnny. For five years, the two collaborated every year to offer an asynchronous three-day Holy Week retreat that ministered to thousands from different parts of the world. Since then, Fr. Johnny has continued offering this online ministry in his Pins of Light, and just completed his thirteenth last Easter Sunday.

Here they share the stories behind the retreat and the lessons learned over a decade of this online ministry.
