A FIFTH LOYOLA SCHOOL: THE GOKONGWEI BROTHERS SCHOOL OF EDUCATION AND LEARNING DESIGN

The Ateneo de Manila University just opened a new school.

In a memo released on the 23rd of May 2021, University President, Fr. Roberto Yap SJ, announced the establishment of the Gokongwei Brothers School of Education and Learning Design. GBSEALD will be the fifth Loyola School on the Ateneo de Manila campus.

Online Book Launch of “Aprender por Refracción” (Spanish Edition of “Learning by Refraction”)

On 28 April 20221, the Spanish edition of Learning by Refraction was launched online by its publisher, Prensa Grupo Comunicación Loyola. The book–which is called Aprender por Refracción in Spanish–was written by Fr. Johnny C. Go SJ and Ms. Rita Atienza on the 25th anniversary of the seminal document “Ignatian Pedagogy: A Practical Approach” (1993).

ADL (ADAPTIVE DESIGN FOR LEARNING) TO BE OFFERED TO 12 PRIVATE SCHOOL SYSTEMS IN JANUARY 2021

This coming January 2021, the ADL Professional Certificate Course will be offered to over 200 teachers from 12 private school systems, thanks to Ateneo de Manila’s partnership with the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC).

PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN ATENEO DE MANILA AND THE PHILIPPINE SCIENCE HIGH SCHOOL SYSTEM ON “ADAPTIVE DESIGN FOR LEARNING” TRAINING

On October 29, 2020, the President of the Ateneo de Manila University, Fr. Roberto C. Yap SJ, and PSHS System Executive Director, Dr. Lilia T. Habacon, signed a memorandum of agreement formalizing a partnership on the Adoptive Design for Learning professional certificate training course for Pisay teachers from all its campuses nationwide.

ATC & ATENEO SALT LAUNCH RADYO TURO-GURO.

On Monday, the 3rd of August 2020, the Ateneo Teacher Center (ATC) and Ateneo SALT Institute launched a new effort to reach out to teachers through a radio program called RADYO TURO-GURO.

This year’s Teacher Training Summer Camp–the annual TURO GURO–was understandably cancelled due to the Extended Community Quarantine. But no one expected that it would reincarnate as–of all things!–a radio show for teachers and parents.

LOST+FOUND FRIDAY: AN EVENING OF POETRY AND PRAYER

Our second Lost & Found Fridays — held on 03 July — was a special Ignatian episode in celebration of the Ateneo 2020 IGNATIAN FESTIVAL: Like the first one, this one was also virtual, and it was also designed to gather our community on our brand new AteneoBlueCloud campus–not for us to talk shop or to discuss business matters, but “to take a deep breath, to take a step back, and to take in the wider view.”
